The Save SPSS System File dialog box saves an
SPSS system file.
It saves files in the current folder which is
identified by the menu title above the
list of files in the dialog box.
To save a system file:
1. Type the name of the file into the
New Filename text box.
2. Change folders if necessary
3. Click the Save button.
SAVE vs. PASTE
Click Save to save the file without entering
a SAVE command into an input window.
Alternatively, click PASTE to paste the SAVE
command into an Input Window. SPSS
automatically selects the SAVE command but
awaits your instructions before running it.
OVERWRITING A FILE
If the file name you assign already exists,
a dialog box asks whether you want to
replace the existing file:
• Yes
Contents of the current file replace
contents of the original file.
• No
The file is not saved, and SPSS assumes you
have changed your mind.
If you still want to save the file, but
under a new name, choose Save SPSS System,
File again.
This time assign a unique name to the file.
